During June 5th to June 7th 2024, SFB delegation including: Assoc. Prof. Yawei YAO (Associate Dean of SFB), Assoc. Prof. Sixue JIA (Director of SFB International Accreditation Office), Assoc. Prof. Yuping SONG (Associate Professor at SFB) visited Indonesia to attend AACSB 2024 Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference.

300+ university/business school representatives from 21 countries/regions in Asia-Pacific and other parts of the world attended the Conference, including 80+ representatives from 30+ peer institutions in Mainland China. Topics of the Conference's keynote speeches include: core principles for leading in an unpredictable future, employing technology in AoL processes, shifting to an agile strategic plan mindset, the way to use AI to develop societal impact metrics, etc. In addition, Conference participants entered into lively discussions on topics like balancing AACSB and national accreditation requirements, myths and misconceptions of AACSB accreditation, the meaning of mission-driven accreditation to schools in the Asia Pacific region, and so on.

During this visit, SFB delegates have not only strengthened interactions with representatives from peer institutions in the Asia Pacific region, but also engaged in amicable communication with AACSB executive leadership members and AACSB accreditation staff, including: Dr. Geoff Perry (AACSB Executive Vice President, Chief Membership Officer, and Managing Director, Asia Pacific), Dr. Stephanie Bryant (AACSB Executive Vice President, Chief Accreditation Officer, and Managing Director, Americas), Ms. Liyan Chen (AACSB Senior Manager of Accreditation), and Mr. Guodong XU (AACSB Regional Head, East Asia).

Moreover, SFB delegates have attended the exchange session among representatives from institutions in Mainland China, and have involved in exchanges and discussions on pursuit of AACSB accreditation with attending participants. Dr. Geoff Perry mentioned that AACSB International attaches great importance to institutions in Mainland China that are AACSB-accredited as well as that are pursuing AACSB accreditation. For now, the number of AACSB-accredited institutions in Mainland China (excluding those in Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, and Taiwan Region) is the second largest around the globe, second only to that of USA.

Attending AACSB 2024 Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference has allowed SFB delegates to reinforce connection with AACSB executive leadership members and AACSB accreditation staff, as well as representatives from business schools/schools of management in the Asia Pacific region. Afterwards, SFB will continue to promote work pursuing AACSB accreditation with reference to the valuable experience gained from this visit.
