On March 3rd 2023, School of Finance and Business (SFB) at Shanghai Normal University School (SHNU) communicated with AACSB International Accreditation Mentor, Professor Remen Chun-Wei Lin via a virtual meeting. Professor Remen Chun-Wei Lin is Dean of the College of Management at Asia University. Participants of this virtual meeting include SFB leadership as well as faculty and staff involved in work of pursuing AACSB accreditation.
According to current division of labor in SFB for the Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER), SFB Dean LIU Jianghui, Associate Dean WANG Zhouwei, Associate Dean YAO Yawei and Administrative Director SHI Xiong reported to the Mentor on SFB’s latest progresses benchmarking “2020 AACSB Guiding Principles and Standards for Business Accreditation”, including aspects like strategic planning, learner success, Assurance of Learning (AoL), physical/virtual and financial resources, etc. Finally, Mr. CHI Guofu, director of the third-party accreditation management platform (BBBlackboard) demonstrated the platform's functions related to AACSB International Accreditation.
After each presentation, the Mentor Professor Chun-Wei R. Lin gave corresponding comments and suggestions, and complimented on the efficiency SFB had demonstrated facilitating work in pursuit of AACSB accreditation. Meanwhile, the Mentor highlighted the importance of the accreditation system and the indispensability of stakeholders for development of SFB, which defined the direction for SFB’s next stage of work in pursuing AACSB accreditation.
At the end of the meeting, SFB Dean LIU Jianghui expressed gratitude to the Mentor for his professional guidance, and said that SFB would continue to further work in pursuit of AACSB accreditation according to the Mentor's advice and suggestions. In the next stage, SFB will optimize its strategic planning, further refine rules and bylaws related to physical, virtual and financial resource, establish and complete its faculty classification criteria, accomplish the construction of its AoL system, and lay a solid foundation for the composition of iSER.
